For low surface energy (LSE) and medium surface energy (MSE) material bags—such as those made of polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP)—standard adhesives often fail to bond securely, requiring high-tack or modified acrylic adhesives. These substrates have a low surface tension (below 37 mN/m) that causes standard adhesives to bead up rather than wet out for a strong bond.
